Channel Islands National Park - March, 2015

The Road Trip Rip crew had family visitors from out of state! A day trip to the Channel Islands was one of the highlights of the visit.
We took the boat from Ventura Harbor to Scorpion Harbor on Santa Cruz Island. The hour-long ride was smooth, but there was not much marine life to be seen on the way. We spent the day hiking to Potato Harbor and back. The trails were lined with wildflowers and green grass, and the views were spectacular all around. Near the end of the day, some island foxes (one of America's rarest mammals since it lives only on the Channel Islands) walked right past us.
Hopefully a return trip to the Channel Islands is not too far in the future!
