California Central Coast - November, 2009
miles driven: ~420
photos taken: ~630
The California Central Coast has definitely not been visited enough by the Road Trip Rip crew. The area shown in these photos is fairly close to where I live, and the scenery is pretty amazing. There was no particular agenda for this weekend, so we just explored places as we happened upon them. One of the highlights was finding a section of the coastline where hundreds of elephant seals gather. This was the "resting season" for the juveniles. We plan to return later when the adults are hanging out there. The full-grown elephant seal males generally weigh around 5,000 - 6,000 pounds!
