Visit from my folks - July, 2013
miles driven: ~1000
photos taken: ~1050
My folks enjoyed their first visit to California so much that they decided to come back out for another tour! This time we went on a 1000-mile road trip. We visited the California central coast again and walked among the redwood trees in Limekiln State Park. While driving on the gnarly Pacific Coast Highway, we saw some California Condors, some of the rarest and largest birds in the world.
After finding some moonstones on Moonstone Beach, we headed inland to Yosemite National Park. There we checked out sequoia trees and went fishing in the Tuolumne River. Dad caught a (small) trout in a mountain river for the first time. Check out that fly rod action! On the way out of the park, we saw a cool bald eagle.
We wrapped things up by visiting the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery and Fossil Falls.
